Several of my friends from Turkey gave me "Come Closer" as a gift after I proclaimed my love for Tarkan. I've been following Tarkan's career since 2002, after "Simarik" (Kiss Kiss) made international waves and his CD "Tarkan" was widely available in the US. Having cut my teeth on Tarkan's earlier works, I honestly wasn't expecting such a polished English-language debut.

The beauty of "Come Closer" is in the blend of East meets West. At first glance, songs that appear to be clones of Justin Timberlake or Darren Hayes slip in moments of Turkish exoticness: bellydance beats, traditional Turkish instruments and melodies, and traditional Turkish singing (Tarkan was classically trained in Istanbul in traditional Turkish song). One of the highlights is an English version of the earlier Sikidim, complete with Turkish chorus and addictive Middle Eastern beats.

As with many albums, "Come Closer" follows the tried-and-true formula of roughly half ballads, half up-tempo dance tracks. The album kicks off with R&B jam "Just Like That," which features a killer bhangra hook on some sort of traditional Turkish strings. "In Your Eyes" continues the melding of Turkish traditional with strong R&B. "Why Don't We" features Wyclef Jean, traditional Turkish modulation, and reggae rhythms. The album continues its reinvention of R&B / dance with each track featuring some Turkish touch to remind you that this is Tarkan and not Justin Timberlake. One or two of the songs seemed more like Timberlake clones, but one listen to Sikidim brings you back to Tarkan's Turkish heritage.

This CD has restored my faith in the future direction of modern R&B / pop. I was convinced based on Justin Timberlake that all R&B-influenced pop was bland, stale, and forgettable. Tarkan has taken an American style and uniquely melded it with Turkish classical influences to reinvent an ailing genre. "Come Closer" is honestly the best CD I've picked up in the last five years (along with Darren Hayes' "The Tension and the Spark").

"Come Closer" has the potential to catapult Tarkan to star status in the US: it's that fresh, exotic blend that's been so sorely absent in American pop / R&B music of the last several years. To add to his crossover potential, Tarkan's English is excellent (he attended university in the US), and is positively photogenic to say the least. Best wishes, Tarkan: may you top the Billboard charts someday soon!

It really makes me mad that I am STILL waiting for mine. It's been released -- obviously, for a while now and I have had my "pre-order" here for awhile. There's this great artist named Tarkan. If you've not heard him, you soon will... but no thanks to Amazon. How can the guy chart anything upon release if they can't release things when they should?

As a HUGE Tarkan fan, I am eagerly awaiting my copy of "Come Closer." I am sure it's the best damned album I've ever heard... Or at least by the time I get mine, it will be!

Ozgur Ozluk "ozgurden" (San Francisco)

After almost a decade of waiting, Tarkan fans have gotten their wish: Tarkan's English debut... Was it worth the wait? Yes, indeed! Is the album all it could be? I am sad to say no!

What makes Tarkan is his amazing vocal range, the sexy color of his voice... He is a master at mixing Turkish classical music influence with the pop beats and rhythms. In this album, he shies away from showing off his range. He does not belt it out as he could - and in my humble opinion should :)

Having said that the album is catchy and fun... It willl definitely be a hit with the European audience. American listeners may be a bit harder to reach.

Now song by song:

1. Just Like That: Explosive start. Tarkan wants to proclaim his arrival. Good to hear the ud (Turkish for lute)!

2. In Your Eyes: Ud touch is great.

3. Why Don't We (Aman Aman) (featuring Wyclef Jean): This is a song that had leaked to the internet. The leaked version had a bit more of Wyclef. I think this is one of the locomotive songs of the album.

4. Mine: beats+voice cf. George Michael

5. Over: Great sampling at the beginning. Is it "Avara" - a Bollywood souvenir? Come on Tarkan, you can sing much prettier and louder.

6. Start The Fire: Did we really need another "Faith"? At least, he does one of his cries on the way to the second verse.

7. Shhh (I Wanna Hear Love Speak): Classic Tarkan. Catchy, sexy, breathy... He is the master of one syllabyl groans and moans...

8. Bounce: I was hoping that the whole album would have the instrumental composition of this song. Baglamas, great belly dancing rythm... The song with the most Turkish touch.

9. Come Closer: When Tarkan sing slow songs, you cannot move, you just sit down and cry (e.g. Ikimizin Yerine, Verme, Don Bebegim) But this? More of a Mustafa Sandal song :(

10. Don't Leave Me Alone: Fun, catchy... The part when he sings "I want your skin on my skin
Won't you let me in"
Gosh! Why would not anyone let him in?

11. Shikidim: A perennial favorite. This is one of the songs of Tarkan's original European "coming-out". I was worried about the dangers of translating such a successful song, that it might alienate the fans of the original. But it is a great cover!

12. I'm Gonna Make U Feel Good: Lyrics are hot. The music? I can take it or leave it.

13. Mass Confusion: Mmmm... Delicious. Captures you immediately, pulls and pushes you. One of my favorites.

14. Touch: Along with #3, I think this is the song has the potential to bring Tarkan to American audience - one loungy remix and one dance mix should do it.

15. If Only You Knew: Once again, Tarkan does slow songs so much better in Turkish.

After all these comments, I have to say that I genuinely wish him good luck! I really really want him to succeed and become a world artist.

Finally, I want to remind you that I am just a fan, of Tarkan, of Turkish music, of MUSIC in general. So take my words with a grain of salt ;)

PS: Possible drinking game: drink a shot of RAKI, each time you hear the word "tonight" or "skin" :)

i been tarkans fun since 1999 too like other people and i was waitig for this album for so long, if you are planning to buy it , buy it dont mis the chance to learn a/b turkish music and culture and dont miss those sounds that transport you to turkey...my song is ORORUM SANNA i love it, come closer its just a masterpiece , HE IS AMAZING.....KARLLA

Micho "micho48" (San Diego, CA United States)

My opinions might be subjective since I like Tarkan a lot and I am Turkish. I believe Tarkan is the best Turkish singer in Turkey [...] and he is one of the best in the world, yes world! I honestly think he is better than Ricky Martin,Enrique Iglesias, etc. Tarkan's voice and the way he sings are totally better/different. This album is his first English album and I think he did it right but could be better. In fact for the first English album, he did a GREAT job. He deserves to be in a better place in the world music industry and I know he will be. He has just started his journey! There will be a time when he will be shaking USA like Ricky Martin and others. Maybe this review focused more on Tarkan than the album but I really like all the songs. Subjective? Yeah maybe a little :) Buy the album and enjoy! I know you will love it!

James (USA)

I agree with the bilahn's review of this cd. This is a great cd, but the review about it from bilahn was truthful, and no one thought the review was helpful..

Like was said, Tarkan is a GREAT singer. I don't know a word of Turkish, yet I bought almost all of Tarkan's cds! And, now this one.... and to the US buyers, it says 3-6 weeks, but I got mine in about 1.5 weeks, so don't fret that it will not come, mine did!
These songs are GOOD, don't get me wrong, but it is like Tarkan's voice sounds not as cool in English. Turkish and English are SO different and Tarkan sounds not as "ethnic" I guess on this cd. He almost sounds like an American singer who has tracks with Middle Eastern beats behind him.
BUT, like was said, Tarkan's stuff is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of arrangements and just general format of the songs!

The cd really GROWS on you. One problem though is that Tarkan's voice seems a bit muffled. I don't know why this is, because his voice is usually front and center. Maybe because this is his first English language album, he wasn't quite as confident or something? I don't know, but I am a native English speaker, and can't understand the lyrics because they are muffled, not because of Tarkan's English!!

Some song highlights are
1. Just Like That
3. Why Don't We (Aman Aman) (featuring Wyclef Jean)
4. Mine
5. Over
6. Start The Fire
7. Shhh (I Wanna Hear Love Speak)
8. Bounce
12. I'm Gonna Make U Feel Good (my personal favorite, a little bit saucy though!)

So in the end, should you buy this? YES. No doubt, it is a good cd...but it is obvious that Tarkan wrote with other people and.. well it almost seems like he is just warbling off English words without knowing the meaning in some spots! Like for example in "I'm Gonna Make U Feel Good" he says " I wrote a script with you in mind" and it makes me wonder if he actually knows what he is saying!!

chan°ge urself into a sea bird (russia, moscow)

It goes without saying that the album is a masterpiece. If you feel unsure about the album's victorious not too distant future, try it yourself and you'll see what I mean!

In case you are familiar with Turkish pop culture and admire it, you will be pleasantly surprised. The album succeeds in combining different musical traditions to an outstanding unity. The West meets East and backwards! Tarkan and his team break down barriers.

If you are unfamiliar with Tarkan's music (or Turkish music in general), I am sure this album will capture your attention by the haunting oriental groove. You cannot escape once you're into it! And believe me you won't have a single impulse to skip a song while listening to the album.

Tastes differ of course... One can hardly enjoy each and every song of an album, but I am sure there is something for everybody on this one! Personally I liked `Why Don't We (Aman Aman)' best.

`Music should have no borders and we should all try to come closer' (Tarkan).

Susan Bolton "Susan" (USA)

The album asks the world to come closer, to unite as one, with humanity as much in harmony as Tarkan's songs are diverse.

I have the album on loop. I think I've listened to each song over hundred times, and to my favourites at least thirty forty times a day. And with each listening, the songs work deeper into you. The album has 15 tracks, but they go so quickly - you just end up wanting more. The day after I brought this album, I woke up suffering from withdrawal symptoms. I was addicted to the sound. The first thing I did was put the CD on...and now I go to sleep with the tracks playing on my iPod.

It is a must have for everyone, because this is a new genre. For never before have I heard the East meet the West in such perfect synergy. This is what world music should be.

Will anyone of Middle-Eastern or of Western descent have ever imagined that the musical instrument oud could fit perfectly with urban beats as it does in his opening track - "Just Like That"? You wonder why no one had thought of it before...but you can imagine that most black artists in the USA will be searching collections of oriental and Turkish musical instruments to start using in THEIR tracks. And rightly so if music sounds like this. This is the fresh injection that RnB and hiphop needs in America right now.

His fourth track "Mine" melds the darbuka with a catchy pop beat that is amazing - WHAT A SONG FOR BELLYDANCERS - and his voice raw and passionate just eats away at your hearing. You won't even realise it IS a darbuka pounding away - it has found a home so well in the arrangements of Ozan ?olakoglu - the much sought after musician that orchestrated Sertab Erener's 2003 hit win "Everyway That I Can" for the Eurovision song contest.

But most importantly, the finale track just raises you to the highest high, soft and slow, and the ending with the dreamy violins and Tarkan singing, "love is the sweetest pain inside/the answer to it all is right there in your eyes", makes you feel the loss of an album coming to an end as his sad soulful voice dies away - and you just can't wait to begin the whole journey again from track 1.

Tarkan in his 5th track 'Over' sings, "If you're heart's not open/you can't see what you've got'. I ask you to open your heart and give this album a chance. You'll be blown away.

Hey people! If you've arrived here trying to convince yourself to buy this album, let me tell you one thing : DON'T LOOSE THIS CHANCE !!! Tarkan's first english album is just a master piece.

I've been a fan of Tarkan since 1999, i've been following his carreer and this man works really hard, he's great and he got the best voice and sensibility of all Turkey, Turkey has great artists but Tarkan shines among all of them, he's like a god in his homeland and i understand perfectly why... he's just an extraordinary artist.

Come Closer is a dream that Tarkan has been dreaming about for more than ten years, now he releases his dream and he's taking a lot of risks, but he gives us all the best he can and that's why i'm sure he'll succeed with this, you just have to hear to his first track, it introduces the rest of the songs just like saying "hey! i'm here! prepare for these songs..." 'cause Just Like That is really grreeeat ! Don't forget to hear calmly to Don't leave me alone, Start the Fire, MASS CONFUSSION, and Come Closer... and the rest of the tracks too! you'll love them, definitely. If you wanna try his previous albums, you'll love DUDU and KARMA, they're really good.

THANKS TARKAN FOR THIS CD, DO NEVER STOP CREATING ART !!!

Now, if you buy this album, hope and wish you'll enjoy it for years, as i'm doing right now.

Rael, Atlantic Beach, Florida, USA "Rael1964" (Atlantic Beach, Florida, USA)

I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since his 1st single 'Bounce' wasn't exactly a 'strong commercial single release'.........That song just seemed to sound a little dated and lacked some of the energy that his 'Turkish' recordings had on other single releases.

Well now Tarkan has finally released his full length all English language CD, and the best way to describe it is that it is a cross between Ricky Martin and George Michael with Tarkan's Turkish heritage sprinkled on all the tracks. That is not a bad thing.

I am glad to hear and understand his songs on this English release, although I loved his other Turkish recordings without understanding what he was singing about. I think for those with eclectic musical taste like me, will appreciate the unique combination of Hip Hop mixed with Pop mixed with Turkish sounds, which is what this cd is.

Not sure why he went the Hip Hop route though, not my favorite genre and I think it is overly saturated in the music business as a whole.....But I think with Tarkan's incredible charisma, sex appeal and gyrating dance moves, he will be able to pull this cd off to the general English speaking market... It is a good 1st effort....But may not be for all...Rael Sandoval

Diane Somerset "Huntress" (London, UK)

I have been a Tarkan fan since his 1999 World Music Award winning international debut self-entitled album Tarkan.

I have to clarify that I cannot stand World music. I'm sorry, and I know this is a limitation, but I just can't seem to listen to other genres outside of the English language...

That is until Tarkan came along. Let us put to one side that he is probably (by a large consensus) the most attractive man you'll ever see, who has a sexual charisma that's makes women feel like real women...any lady reading this will know what I mean.

Forget the beautiful packaging that this amazing voice comes in.

Let's stick to his musicality not masculinity, which is just as attractive as his looks and buns.

Ever since 1999 Tarkan has been making soul food for the masses - and he has been hitting our heartstrings without many of us knowing what he is singing about.

And that is hard to do.

Because the lyrics of a song are part and parcel of its magic - so when you imagine that Tarkan blasts through this barrier with only the internationally recognised modes of human passion and emotion ... you can guess what type of voice this male maestro has to offer our eardrums.

It is like porn for your ears - but tasteful porn. Soft and sensuous - giving us insights into ourselves and our world. Tarkan sings of a utopia that we should all try and aim to aspire to - one without barriers - where the only country is love.

He brought me into world music. He literally opened my eyes and ears and heart to a whole new body of sounds I had never heard of before.

So now we come to all that AND WITH THE LYRICS IN ENGLISH.

Now the songs are at their full power...Double the power of Tarkan.

I thought Tarkan couldn't outdo himself, but he has.

Here is my analysis of this outstanding album:

1. "Just Like That": The opening track it feeds you with seductive oud riffs and heatbeat bass, with Tarkan's voice loud and clear, as he croons how he wants sex and fidelity. 8/10

2. "In Your Eyes": Is more of the same, and you can feel the urban beats dressed in catchy rhythms, arranged to perfection. I love the way he sings "And I feel like I've been waiting/A thousand nights for you, for you" in between husky breathless beats - Pure charisma 8/10

3. "Aman Aman": This features Wyclef Jean from Fugees and I have to say I am amazed at Tarkan's vocal ability here. If you think that English isn't even his second language but third (after German and Turkish) to be able to master these lyrics and sound sexy is amazing. I love Wyclef's rap too - Great tune. 7/10

4. "Mine": In my opinion the album really kick starts with this deliriously catchy tune - melded with darbuka drums and Tarkan's superior vocals. His every emphasis on "I'm gonna make you mine" just makes me go crazy! I listen to this constantly and yeah I shake my buns! 9/10

5. "Over": This is a soft sad ballad decorated with Spanish guitars and Turkish passion, a perfect fusion for Latin lovers everywhere. 8/10

6. "Start the Fire": Excellent summer song! very upbeat and sexy. I just love the "chicki chicki" chorus - when I first heard this song it just wouldn't leave my head. I hum it all day long! 9/10

7. "Shhh": This song is a little too pop quaint for me - though I love Tarkan's sexy "Shhhhh" - and agree with the sentiment that there is a time for words and a time to shush and just let love speak. 7/10

8. "Bounce": I love this track - but what really endeared the song to be was the remixes from the single - some excellent tracks there. 8/10

9. "Come Closer": this track is very soulful and philosophical - filled with meaning for those that can hear it. This song is for those that see us as all one family, with one voice and one spirit. And perhaps Tarkan's sweet clear voice, caressing the words gives it a greater impact. He makes the cold lyrics on the page just become 3D thanks to a great voice and passionate interpretation. He really sings here like he means it. 9/10

10. "Don't Leave me Alone": I love the disco theme to this, remixed version of this could be spectacular. "Fire I want it back, Desire I want it back" Tarkan sings - and boy do we get it in abundance with this track. 8/10

11."Shikidim": Tarkan gave Europop two classic songs - Simarik was one (the kiss kiss song copied by Holly Valance) and this is the other. Get this remixed and out in the clubs - with a semi-naked Tarkan in a video (well if Holly can do it why not Tarkan?) this would be a sure-fire number one hit. 9/10

12. "I'm Gonna make You Feel Good": My favourite song - the lyrics are so sexy and amazing - this is a song for women (and men that way inclined) it just makes me......ooohhhh 10/10

13. "Mass confusion": I think this is really Tarkan's song - we really get to feel how he sees the daily pressures of fame and how he searches for real love. "I'm overanalyzed, digitized, terrorized/Over merchandised, paralyzed" he sings with perfect clarity - now you try singing that in a language that's not your native language! 9/10

14. "Touch": I love, love, love this song. The lyrics hold so many truths: "Slide over here/Melt into me/Forget where you begin
Cause everyone needs a touch" with Tarkan's own brand of sexy singing stamps the words into heart with fire. Love needs a touch. This album touches you just like this. 10/10

15: "If Only I Knew": The grand finale...and what a way to end a perfect album. Not with a bang, but a whisper...a sad outro to an explosive start - mournful yet full of promise...This song has it all, Turkish vocals raising to passionate highs with powerful English lyrics tinged with eastern flavour: "If I could take the sun and take the moon/And make tomorrow wait/If only I knew the way..." 9/10

I wanted to do this in detail to show readers that there is something in here for everyone. It truly is a great harmony of different sounds, colours and images from all across the world.

I also thought the genre world music was erroneous because it isn't really world music - it is each country's own music.

But this album is world music in the truest sense - as Tarkan breaks down barriers he accepts none in his music.

Forget the rest - just go for the best. TARKAN!

Tarkan is on track to conquer the hearts and minds of everyone.

Jared Colins "Universal Music" (Berlin, Germany)

I wonder why these so called reviewers who state they like Tarkan so much but not this ground-breaking album COME TO REVIEW HIM NOW simply to give him a bad pess? Surely these reviewers should have reviewed Tarkan's music (if as they profess they have all his CDs) long before now - and not just come here to blatantly lie about this excellent work of art.

Why do I say lie and not opinion? Because you can't say this album is great but give it two stars, or give it four and then try and ridicule Tarkan simply because of his accent - which is completely understandable.

That is what it is. When you compare it to the pop trash out there (a.k.a anything by Usher/Britney Spears) you can see this album has one thing the others lack SOUL! And Tarkan couldn't portray this if he had a muffled voice. I think ears and hearts might be muffled however!

I understand all of Tarkan's lyrics and they are not muffled at all. Let me give you saome examples - and I wish I could give you sound examples - to totally blow away some of those lies - I promise you, listen to previews of "Over", "If Only You knew and Touch" and you'll know that his voice, thick with emotion just rings out - - loud and clear.

When he sings:

"Slide over here
Skin against skin
Melt into me
Forget where you begin"

in the song Touch - I sure know what he's saying. I get goosebumps everytime.

But maybe the best thing we can say to those reviewers who cannot listen past the first note with prejudice is Tarkan when he sayings in his Come Closer song:

I will raise my eyes to see more
Speak a truth and we shall know

Listen to this album and you shall know that these "people" don't know what they are talking about.

I have also had problems with Amazon.com about delivery. I am still waiting for my CD - as have many others. But of course those that accept Amazon's lacklustre policies when it comes to imports are bound to side with Amazon.

Carlito "Karl" (Rome, Italy)

I give Tarkan try at English language pop hip hop 5 stars, but most write about the music, I want to write about the lyrics.

I've always been a content over style man. I like meaning in my lyrics whether it is a love song or a socio-political song. This is because meaningful lyrics must communicate some of the human experience.

One problem with many hip hop urban songs is the lack of this meaning. It is true that often the songs that have less meaning that people like to attach their own meaning to, but when you think about it - what messages are those songs giving? There is too much emphasis on hook and melody and "let's make babies" lyrics.

With Tarkan, although he has covered himself in urban beats, he has not forgotten the power of lyrics and many of his songs retain lyrical power.

I'm a musical student and I am thinking of writing a paper on this CD.

It is true that sometimes you can't quite make out what he says in English - one word or two here and there - but the whole flows so well that you know what he is saying without having to look in the booklet.

He does clever things by giving clues of other songs in different songs by using "chain words", and by using repeating motifs in the language to make the concept feel strong all the way through. For example imagery of "no need for words" (don't speak), touching skin on skin, and fire motifs are very powerful in the whole of the songs and often repeated. And in the song "I'm Going To Make You Feel Good" he whisper "Come Closer" indicating that if we follow the message of his "Come Closer" song to unify we can have so much more fun!!!

Some of the songs namely the first three "Just Like That" "In your eyes" and "Why Don't we" conform to usual lyrics, and you think Track 4 "Mine" will be more of the same and then halfway he sings in a sexy pitch and you take notice:

"Don't want you to hate me
I just want you to love me
I don't need you to save me
Don't you wanna misbehave me"

It is after this that the lyrics become to come into their own. The highest praise that can be heaped on a lyric is to compare it to poetry. And beginning with Track 5 the slow "Over", Pete "Boxta" Martin and Tarkan's writing is like poetry, with such home truths as:

"When you know you're wrong
She's heard it all before
And with every word unspoken
Each moment comes undone"

We've all been there right? There is no pretentious school-book rhyming here - just emotional words.

Then in Track 9 to the metaphorical call for human unity in his "Come Closer" song penned by the famous producer David Werner:

"A wind is blowing and a fire's loose
I couldn't find the words to call a truce
And tore the temple down to let the spirit rise..."

You can feel how caged we are by prejudice and now's the time to break free of our fears and come together. A lyric that chimes with the listener can have a unique impact. It shapes how you see the world. This had that impact on me. I love this song.

Towards the end, the album becomes lyrically much stronger, with tracks 12 to 15 all hitting out emotional lyrics.

Track 12 and clever sexy lyrics of "I'm Gonna Make You feel Good" just makes you smile written by Tina Harris, Steve Lee and Pete ''Boxta'' Martin:

"I just wanna see
What you're writing with your sweat on my skin
Come on, bring your dirty mind upstairs
I'm gonna make you feel good
Spinning around inside your brain
Like a sexy kind of hurricane"

It's fun, free and sexy - the lyrics just jump out at you.

While the final track 15, "If Only You Knew" being the most sweetest love song I've heard in a long time, with Billy Mann lyrics helping Tarkan to claim:

"Love is the sweetest pain inside
The answer to it all is right there in your eyes
I think I could die tonight
And know that I don't have to live again
And make love for hours 'til our bodies join
And your skin is my skin
If I could take the sun and take the moon
And make tomorrow wait
If only I, if only I knew the way"

What more is there to say with a finale like that? Except listen to it all over again.

It looks like this will be one of my most favourie CDs for a long, long time.

Ramon Perez "Peron" (Rio, Brasil)

Tarkan delivers a quality set of slick Turkish music vibes fused in RnB, hip hop and pop.

When I first heard that Tarkan was going to jump into the urban genre with his first English language album I went "OH NO!" There's only so much sex implied/foreplay lyrics that one album can handle, and the lack of variety can ultimately prove fatal.

Yet, this album shows how much Tarkan knows his stuff, because he hasn't fallen into the same trap that many urban artists do.

This makes "Come Closer" a solid enough collection of slow jams, and modern beats, with just the right amount of sex added in as spice.

Filled with sexy tales of flirtation "I'm Gonna Make You feel Good" and "Mine", and fatal attractions "Just Like That" and "Shikidim", you might, at first glance, expect Come Closer to be devoid of serious messages. Not a chance; songs like "Come Closer" (calling out "for a thread of peace and a seed of hope"), and "Mass Confusion" (Tarkan sings "I'm overanalyzed, digitized, terrorized, Over merchandised, paralyzed") gives us a deeper insight to how this singer's mind clicks.

His serious points - particularly on songs such as "Over" (a Spanish flavoured ballad about lost love), "Come Closer", "Mass Confusion" and "If Only You Knew" give out deeper messages of the world today and how we should try harder to unify with each other and ourselves.

A surprise bonus is the addition of Fugee's Wyclef Jean lending his rap to Tarkan's vocals on track three: Why Don't We.

Tarkan is quality. He seems to get better and better with every new album. Though I have to say that I don't EVER want him to stop singing in Turkish, but this album is a best buy.

I thought all in all, his songs are fun and definitely make you want to dance. Most of the songs are strictly for just that purpose but I feel there are a few songs that go deeper than that. The first one is "Over". The message is pretty clear: You don't realize what you have until it's gone. The next one is "Closer". I think it is very pertinent in our world today with so much chaos going on everywhere....wars and rumors of wars, not to mention so many other things that divide us. It strikes me as particularly endearing (since being from Turkey there is a good chance he is also Muslim) because it just shows that the difference between us all has everything to do with what is in our hearts and not what you see on the outside. The third song is "If Only You Knew". It speaks a lot about the chaos of loving someone but they don't know it (or maybe they don't even know you exist). I think everyone can relate to that at one time or another. I think it is a superb album.

This is easily one of Tarkan's best albums yet! The music is high-energy, dance-club-ready and lots of fun to listen to! He has a few ballads on here to show off his beautiful voice, but overall the tracks are pop music that's very danceable. I'm glad his newest release is FANTASTIC, but I would also love to see another English album from this versatile artist...
