TEMPO interview in English!
The English record you've been dreaming for 10 years, is about to be released. How does it make you feel?
I'm like a quite different person. When I wake up in the morning my eyes are opening instantly. I say to myself "Has 'that day' come?". I'm so much relaxed now. Even until last night (March 22nd) we were trying to finalising the artwork of the album, there's "special thanks to" contribution. I had to scan 10 years, think and never forget to thank anybody. After completing everything I've felt myself unbelievably relieved.
Everybody was saying 'Tarkan's English record won't come'..
They are right, if I were them, I'd say the same thing; what an album this is? (means 'how come an album takes 10 years to produce', this explanations comes because of some 'lost in translation' Turkish phrases, but i'm still here, ehe)
Why did it take 10 years and will it take the 2nd English album to be released another 10 years?
In fact to name this process 10 years somewhat will be a mistake. Not only I didn't know speaking English, but also I wasn't believing this dream to come true. In the period I was in USA, I went to courses and a school. Because of that fact, we can call the process 'Come Closer' shaped in last 3 years. But in that 10 years many producers, many managers, have came to past. Every of them has a memory on this record. One day they will expound to their grandchildren as 'Do you know that, it took 10 years'.
Didn't you ever dread in this process? And shot the door saying 'Damn it!'?
Yeah, there has been times even when i took my suitcases and came back to Turkey. I did that many times. But then a part of me said 'If you don't to that, you will regret until the end of your life'.
