Tarkan and nine other famous personalities were transferred to the Beşiktaş Courthouse over a drug case on Monday.

The suspects were detained on Thursday night after a raid by narcotics officers. The order for the raid was given following a six-month investigation by İstanbul prosecutor Kadir Altınışık. Ten suspects were transferred to the Beşiktaş Courthouse yesterday morning for sentencing on charges of using narcotics and alleged links with two drug dealers.

During his 45-minute testimony, Tarkan reportedly admitted to using drugs but dismissed the accusations that he supplied drugs for others.

Tarkan was held for five days in a special room on the fifth floor of the police station, where he suffered a panic attack. The singer underwent health checks two times a day at the police station. Tarkan received special treatment at the courthouse as well.

A man disguised as Tarkan was brought into the main entrance of the courthouse while Tarkan was taken through a special entrance used by judges and prosecutors. Despite efforts to try to keep the media at bay, journalists photographed Tarkan.

While speaking with police officers at the İstanbul Police Department, Tarkan reportedly said he wanted to stop using narcotics but wasn't able to do so and would undergo rehabilitation after his release.

The famed singer had previously said he regrets using drugs and feels guilty for letting down his fans, stating that he hopes they do not turn to drugs. “I apologize to my fans the most. I hope no one will begin using narcotics because of my bad example,” Tarkan was quoted as saying by newspapers on Sunday. He added that he feels guilty for disappointing his fans.

During the raid at Tarkan's house, police reportedly asked Tarkan if he had any drugs in the house, at which point Tarkan presented 12.5 grams of cannabis to the officers.

Among the other detainees were Tarık and Ömer Faruk Miras, sons of Fuat Miras, the former president of the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), Kubilay Keskin, a reporter for the Hürriyet daily's Kelebek supplement, Milliyet reporter Bekir Saçar, RedRoom Bar owner Gökhan Yüzbaşıoğlu, Ayyıldız Mayo co-owner Murat Erdoğan and two drug dealers.

Tarkan is not the only Turkish star in trouble recently for drug-related problems. Another Turkish pop singer, Deniz Seki, was arrested on Feb. 24, 2009 and subsequently held at Bakırköy Prison for suspected cocaine use. She was released by an İstanbul court following a hearing on Oct. 1. A prosecutor last week demanded an eight-year prison sentence for the singer.

Press Release from Tarkan's attorney, Yunus Egemenoglu:

"Our client, Tarkan, was detained during an investigation performed by the
Istanbul Narcotics Department. He was taken into custody and gave testimony in reference to the matter. My client was released after giving his testimony and explanations relating to the matter.

Due to all the speculation happening in the press, we wish to correct errors
made and acquaint the public with the specifics of the case.

Tarkan Tevetoglu is not apart of the continuing investigation in relation
to this matter.

Cocaine was not found at his home.
It is not true that he is a drug addict.
His friends did not provide drugs and no drug trades happened.
He does not have connections with the people in the book (acquired by
police).
His name was not revealed in the book (acquired by the police).There is not allegation or evidence of a link with any organization (that
sells drugs?).
It is not true that he resisted arrest and he has been helping the police
with this matter. The idea that his driver had drugs is not true.The police department and the judiciary will handle this as is legally suitable and appropriate.

As the matter is heading to the courts, we cannot make any further comments,but we are sure the truth will be revealed by courts. The speculations made in the public do not relate to the real facts of the case, as will be determined by the courts.

Of course it was difficult at first because..at first days in the army I had some
difficult times but you know it's very short it was 28 days ..and there is so many solders do it for 18 months so I was lucky to do it in a such short time
but it was ok. it was a great experience to me it was amazing..

I want to rise my voice a little to be an exmaple for my fans and people who care about animals..let's do something about them..an act instead of bying new dogs and cats I think we should adopt them and save their lives...

we have to control the population of these animals first but not by kill them or
poisoning them..I saved a few dogs from the street they were starving some of them they needed health care and food..let's give animals some protection.

to connect this arlicle I just want to give a very brave situation made by Tarkan ..a bold opinion about the dam project...and about his dream about Turkey ...
I think admiration and respect is little for this rare personality ..in fact I'm sure.

I have written a letter to abdullah Gul our president .I protested against the dam with my signature .If the politicians are getting making an impression.
It's unfair to destroy a place of such unbelievable beauty .we
need to find others ways to bring (Turkey impoverished) southeast (region)on its feet economically .this area is ideal tourism.

My message to the companies is stop with this insanity.
would destroy a world Heritage site if it were in your countriees.I don't think so.
My song Uyan (wake up) it's not just about Hasankeyf -it's
about the whole planet .My fellow countrymen should realize that they too are biting the hand that feeds them.

I hope that we become strong through our power .that we won't need cash injections from abroad or won't believe that we need to sell our natural treasures .I'm a fan of
Europe but if that doesn't happen anymore it also won't be a disaster for not joining the European Union.

I wish to my country would be economically strong to not have to sacrifice it's natural landscape that we would be more environmentally -friendly-sensible ,and peaceful that in a decade we would have no more discrimination or terrorism..that's my dream

Tarkan release press statement
Haber show has released what is says is a press release from Tarkan's lawyer ..claiming that any reports about blood or urine samples taken from the singer are completely false.
asking the Turkish press to respect the process during this time(I wonder..how while their God is the dollar???)
as the paries waited for the due process of the law ,and also asks that the press respect their own cods of conduct and not print articles based on fabrication...((respect..I don't think that they have an information about this word or even deal with it because they are disrespectful))

Democracy in general mean a system in which the govenment of a country is elected by all of the people
while dectatorship is a country that is ruled by one person
who has a total power by using force and rules the country unfairly and called dictator.

Tarkan among the media..It will be a long fight ..so It's smaks more than a bit of irony that Tarkan secured from the international press..cause some of the more reputable news channels regards him at home.((reputation is very important ))
maybe they've just woken up to the fact that the cheap-to-produse entertainment and gossip stories the paparazzi specialise in will always get the public interest..

while Elele magazine is celebrating 35 years in print mentioning that Tarkan first appeared on it's cover in1995
and he was the third male to do so at that time .
Tarkan also apeared in 2001 and 2003 issue of the magazin
the editor of Elele Nuray Yavuzer praised Tarkan's star quality ..she went to say ((he was our first male cover ,we sold out but couldn't have ben done with anyone else but Tarkan .After Tarkan a lot of male celebrities asking us toget the cover ..but that was just for Tarkan because Tarkan had unbelievable charisma.

I see your articles and remember Tankan’s words about that there are a lot of people with him but not all of them truly friends. It is so terrible cause in such moments person stay alone.
And I hope that this accident be something like a muse for him for new beautiful songs.

first of all they are not my articles ..I try to make the reader understand who is Tarkan ? Istanbul --Tarkan leaving after filmimg TRT new year show ,was met with a barricade of magazine reports His car dangerously jammed .His fans ruoghed up Tarkan was forced to take refuge at a hotel after being unable to reach his home.He tensed up a little when asked and look very tired and up set " I went to the filming of TRT's new year
show ,before I went into the shoot some of our team buddies
had told the magazine repoters waiting at the door that I was
going to leave I wouldn't be in a position to speak with them any way despite this around 10-15 paparazzi had circled our car with their vehicles at the exit I got straight into my car but we couldn't move for a little while because they had blockaded our car..with move slowly forward they were all after us..At one time while waiting in traffic ..a group of fans coming from the concert.Succeeded to get close to our car playing the album making a display of affection .just that moment something
happened that filled me with horror some paparazzi got out their car and started to rough up my fans maybe they wanted to distance them I was really up set what right did they have to do this?

Tarkan's message is simply love ,he speaks it with his heart and you see it in his eyes .Tarkan is an entertainer who has broken the mould of the pop star and set the standard for a new breed of artist .he is a force that has managed to overcome countless barriers ,simply because he sees none his music is a testament to the infinitr appeal of an artist who is true original
As a musician and as an artist my aim is always to challenge myself ,expand my vision and learn more about music ,life people ,my talents and myself.I believe that every credible artist who's seeking to improve his or her gifts has to challenge him or herself and ask for more Otherwise life would be boring just to be satisfied with what you have
I'm very open to any kind of music .world music has always influenced me but I love any kind of good music from classical to oriental ,from Latin to Afrrican -American music .My music is the natural outcome of all the influences I've mentioned above .

try to post them
starting with Harbiye in August
according to Sabah news which mentioned Tarkan in three articles
with one making the front page of their variety section
((gunaydin)) that heralds Tarkan's performing live this summer
another article wrote that Tarkan music company HITT will
be once again organising summer open air concerts in Istanbul
for this August then they add that Tarkan had once again
dazzled fans for the season's 5th in 2009
((all Istanbul's concerts are very special but that one and Taksim
are unforgetable ..really great ..hope I can be there this summer))
Tarkan had also been reported with Pekkan after making a surorise
appearances last year while rumours are still alive that the pair
may dute together at Turkish music station in 17th of may ..
everybody is wating to see the king again..

and Germany which write ((two years jail for Tarkan ))
listen to this..Tarkan fans are still reeling from the shock about yesterday's
news reports that the singer release on bail last month..((in fact

the Turkish press recording Tarkan the first is an article on the latest update to Tarkan's drug case which writes that the drugs were found in every corner of the singer's Villa ((I don't know ..maybe he use it to decorate the Villa instead of roses..did they konw they live in Turkey ..not in Colombia !!!!!)
another article writs that Tarkan is trying to put the dark behind him ((best thing he may do))and has completely given himself to his work..he's counting down now for the release of the album ...hopefully we're going to hear those songs we've missed so much from him ..I'm happy((not me ..the writer said..I shall be very happy when evry thing is over..I mean the drugs case))

talking about drug case need some evidence cause we have minds to think with..first Tarkan was a drug dealer then he became a drug user and according to the latest news he is a drug collecter ..I don't know if like their coulors as they said green and white ..or maybe it's kinds ..but did they really find drugs in his home ?
is the whole operation was legally 100% ..or even 50%
did you think if they found drugs they will keep it secretly ..while they brought cameras to record their legally way to arrest Tarkan ..

leaving the drugs case for a while and try to talk about Tarkan's music..we will find about how many artist Tarkan may worth ..20 -25 ..I'm sure he worth the music since it's born till this moment at least for his fans ..he is the music key.
then you will read about musicologist ((I don't want to know his name ..who said that Tarkan should change his music he's been selling for 15 years
((I think this person is thinking like me ..I love his old music more more than than this maybe cause I don't like modren life it's make me think in cities and it's noise ..but the classic one take me to the nature ..and most of the people love the modren music we can't force them to be like us ..so we have to accept their selection ..kind of democracy..and also he can keep listening to Tarkan's first and second albums where he can hear the music that he like.
then a source has sured that Tarkan will appear in Kral TV 16-5 ..it's might be the last time we can see him before his leaving .(what about his concerts.we need someone to ask him.
at last Tarkan fans are waiting for the new album eagerly ..what about the Turkish press!!
